Effect of morphology on the formation of CdO nanostructures for Antibacterial and Hemolytic studies
Cadmium Oxide is an inorganic compound with the formula CdO. Its crystal structure is Cubic. It has an excellent industrial application in the area of catalysis, photo catalysis, electrodes for storage batteries and biomedicine. In this work Cadmium oxide (CdO) nanostructures with various morphologies were investigated for antibacterial activity. The effects of pyridine concentration on the formation CdO were investigated. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirms the creation of Cubic structures. The FESEM and TEM studies confirm the creation of hexagonal nanosheet with the size of about 100-200 nm. FTIR and FTR methods confirmed the existence of Pyridine on the composition. The morphology and optical property of synthesized material were affected by Pyridine molecule and annealing temperature. Pyridine capped CdO2 and CdO nanostructures showed enhanced Antibacterial activity. The Antibacterial activity and Hemolytic activity of CdO nanostructures were studied and discussed in detail.
