In this study, oxidation-responsive liquid marbles (LMs) were prepared using ferrocene powder and water. Hydrophobic ferrocene powder in reduced state adsorbs to the water droplet surface to form LM. The ferrocene-coated LM collapsed in response to oxidizing agents such as ozone (O-3), because the oxidized ferrocene is hydrophilic and was desorbed from the LM surface.
