Development of Activator-free Iron Pincer Complexes for Alkene Hydrosilylation and Elucidation of Its Activation Mechanism
Activation of iron dihalide complex for hydrosilylation of alkene was examined along with the disproportionation of hydrosilane. The pre-catalyst prepared in the reaction of activators with iron dihalide complex exhibited catalytic activity towards hydrosilylation with primary, secondary, and tertiary silanes. Mechanistic study revealed that the bench-stable and activator-free iron catalyst was reduced by hydrosilane to afford the active species.
