Electrochemical Determination of Chlorophenaramine Based on RTIL/CNT Composite Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode in Pharmaceutical Samples
A new electrochemical sensor was fabricated for the determination of Chlorophenaramine (CHL) in pharmaceutical samples based on room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL), 1-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate and multi walled carbon nanotubes (IL/CNTs) integrated onto the glassy carbon electrode (IL/CNT/GCE). A well defined electro oxidation peak was observed at 0.989V, at the IL/CNT/GCE on LSV. Cyclic voltametry was applied to characterize various vital parameters. The modified electrode exhibits good sensitivity and selectivity toward CHL in presence of other potential interferents with linearity range 1 x 10(-6) to 0.9 x 10(-4) M and limit of detection 0.7 x 10(-6) M. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) reveals lower Rct values for IL/CNT/GCE than bare GCE and CNT/GCE. The analytical applicability of the sensor for determination of CHL in Sinarest and Chlorophenaramine maleate tablets was satisfactory. (C) 2019 The Electrochemical Society.
