Selective Particle Classification in Ultrasonically Excited Aerosols
In this contribution an alternative approach to classify finest particles in an aerosol is described. Traditional separation processes reach their limits for smallest particles, as their separation mechanism often arises from the dominance of volumetric forces. An approach that allows the classification of the finest particles in an aerosol is presented and verified by analytical modeling. This alternative separation method provides good selectivity and offers the perspective of processing technically relevant amounts in particle size ranges where only analytical methods are currently available.
