LaNiO3 Surface Modified LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2 as Cathode Materials for Li-ion Batteries
LaNiO3 coated LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2 (NCM523) materials were successfully synthesized via a sol-gel method. Morphological measurements indicate that LaNiO3 layer with similar to 10 nm thickness was coated uniformly on parent NCM523 materials. The capacity retention of LaNiO3-coated NCM523 after 50 cycles is higher than bare substrate. Meanwhile, the coated samples also show improved rate capability. The favorable LaNiO3 layer endows decreased charge transfer impedance, leading to enhanced electrochemical performance.
