A Novel Ordered Carbon Nanotube Bundle Material for the Adsorption of Cr(VI) in Water
A novel carbon nanotube bundles (CNTB) material was synthesized and evaluated for the adsorption of Cr(VI) for the first time. The 300-600 nm long parallel channels with 10 nm pore diameter of CNTB lead to more adsorption sites and lower mass transfer resistance than a commercial AC material and thus to remarkably larger adsorption capacity and faster adsorption rate than AC. The Cr(VI) adsorption on CNTB was found to be well fitted to pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir isotherm model.
