Novel diorganotin(IV) carboxylates based on 2-benzoylbenzoic acid: Synthesis, characterization, molecular structures and luminescent activities
Two novel diorganotin(IV) carboxylates: Ph2SnL2 1 and Cy2SnL2 2 (HL = 2-benzoylbenzoic acid), were assembled by dialkyltin oxide (alkyl = phenyl or cyclohexyl) and HL with 1:2 molar ratio. The synthesized complexes have been structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C, 119Sn NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography diffraction analyses. Both 1 and 2 are mono-nuclear dialkyltin carboxylates. The carboxylate groups of HL in 1 and 2 adopt bidentate mode to coordinate with the central Sn atom. 1D, 2D and 3D supramolecular structures formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonds, C-H center dot center dot center dot pi and pi center dot center dot center dot pi interactions are discussed in detail. Furthermore, the preliminary luminescent properties of 1 and 2 have been studied.
