Effects of chemical bath deposition conditions on the growth of CdS thin-films
The effects of deposition conditions on the material properties of CdS thin films grown by chemical bath deposition (CBD) were studied. The growth conditions include stirring rates and the number of substrates used during deposition. Material properties such as the structural and morphological characteristics were investigated as functions of growth conditions. The growth rate of CdS films depends strongly on the stirring rate, whereas the crystallite size and the surface morphology do not depend on it. The experimental results can be explained by the atom-by-atom growth mechanism proposed by Ortega-Borges andLincot.
