Crystal Structure and Fluorescent Properties of Cd(II) Complexes Based on Acylhydrazone ligands
8-Hydroxyquinoline-2-carbaldehyde-(4'-hydroxyphenylacetyl) hydrazine (HL) and Its complexes ([Cd(L)(2)center dot CH3CH2OH center dot 8H(2)O] (1), [Cd(HL)(2)][CdCl4]center dot 3CH(3)CH(2)OH center dot 2H(2)O] (2) were synthesized from 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-carbaldehyde and 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetohydrazide as starting materials. The structures of two complexes have been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction analysis shows that both of complexes 1 and 2 crystallized in triclinic space group Pi. Also, the fluorescence properties of complex were studied by UV-Vis absorption by fluorescence spectroscopy, and the thermal stability was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis.
