The natural gas amine sweetening process to remove acid impurities has been analyzed, the related problems have been considered, and ways of their solution have been proposed. Problems such as optimization of compositions of both the amine solution and the acid gases to be eliminated, contamination of amine solutions with different impurities, amine degradation, and high energy consumption for their regeneration, have been analyzed. Foaming in the absorber and means of its suppression have been considered, as well as the main issues of management and disposal of spent amines.
