Comparative solubility studies of some natural wild berries extracts
Wild berries are natural sources of bioactive compounds with applications in various fields. In this paper their solubility studies in two different solvents, performed for four different types of natural extracts, are reported. In this regard, blackcurrant tincture, bilberry tincture, concentrated bilberry extract and lingonberry leaf extract were used. The materials were characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and fluorescence measurements. The spectral study has led to the identification of some specific vibrations of certain compounds according to the solvent used, consisting of aqueous and 70% ethanolic solutions.
