Phenazine derivatives as dye photoinitiators of radical polymerization of trimethylolpropane triacrylate. Impact of quantum yield of triplet state formation on photoinitiation efficiency
Seven phenazine derivatives were synthesized by condensation phenanthroquinone-9,10 and naphtoquinone-1,2 with arom. diamines and used as photoinitiators for studying free radical polymerization of trimethylolpropane triacrylate under visible light irradn. The initial rate of the polymerization was used as the photoinitiator efficiency measure. The efficiency depended on the arrangement of the arom. rings in modified phenazines and quantum yield of triplet state formation of the photoinitiator in the visible light region.
