Surfactant promoted enhancement in electrochemical and electrochromic properties of films of prussian blue and its analogs
The present study focuses attention on the effect of surfactants on modified electrodes with molecules of prussian blue and its analogs, which possess one or more redox centers and offer themselves as model surface systems for investigating surface effects. Among the surfactants studied the cationic surfactant cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide has offered enhanced film growth and excellent electrochemical reversibility in addition to perceptible changes in electrochromic performance of the chosen model systems. Current-time transients and visible absorption spectral data are presented to supplement and substantiate the enhanced effects.
