Kinetic models for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis for the production of clean fuels
A comprehensive review of the kinetic models for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis with cobalt and iron catalysts was developed. Various kinetic models have been proposed to predict the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) reaction behavior, as well as to study the products distribution under the use of cobalt and iron-based catalysts, with different configurations of catalytic supports and promoters. The kinetic models that have been addressed today range from the simplest based on the power-law formulation to the most complex ones based on the formulation of rigorous reaction mechanisms, such as those of Langmuir-Hinshelwood-Hougen-Watson.
