Versatile Accumulated Surface Plasmon Resonance of Functionalized Nanosilver in Polymer Devices
The coupling effect of surface plasmons of noble-metal nanoparticles with excitons in organic materials enhanced the efficiency of devices (organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs)). PEGylated graphene oxide (GO)-supported Ag nanoparticles (Ag@PEG-GO) were employed to construct multiple plasmonic nanostructures to enhance OLED efficiency. The Ag@PEG-GO nanocomposite is blended into either the buffer layer or emissive layer of OLEDs, which triggered the surface plasmonic effect and promoted radiative emission with additional absorption leads to enhance the efficiency [current efficiency (eta(c)) = 27.16 cd/A; power efficiency (eta(p)) = 16.7 lm/VV; external quantum efficiency (EQE) = 14.8%].
