Two-dimensional water layer of cube-like or bowl-shaped clusters in a three-dimensional supramolecule (C10H18N)(3)Fe(CN)(6)center dot 17H(2)O
Two-dimensional (2D) layer of water molecules has been observed in crystalline hydrate (C10H18N)(3)Fe(CN)(6)center dot 17H(2)O (1). The layer is generated by interconnection of cube-like clusters by two oxygen atoms. On the other hand, this layer can also be viewed as fuzing bowl-shaped units by sharing edges.
