Preparation of Cr-doped BaTiO3 near infrared reflection pigment powder and its anti-aging performance for acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate
BaCrxTi1-xO3 (x = 0.05, 0.07, 0.12, 0.15) pigment powders were synthesized by acrylamide modified sol-gel technique. The characterization results suggest the average particle size of the synthetic samples distributes from 64.5 nm to 85.6 nm and the color turns from yellow to yellow-green. The charge transfer of Ti 3d <-> O 2p and the Ti 3d <-> Cr 3d are majorly responsible for the color change. The NIR solar reflectance of the BaCr0.07Ti0.93O3 pigment is up to 82.46%. The application experiment shows that comparing to the pure ASA (acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate), the NIR solar reflectance of the modified ASA sample is improved by 52%, the inner surface temperature and heat absorption of the modified ASA sample are reduced by 5.5 degrees C and 26.8% respectively, and the aging resistance performance is improved by 4 times. In conclusion, the Cr-bearing BaTiO3 pigments unfold potential to improve the aging resistance of ASA plastics. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
