Dry desulfurization process in BFB boiler by the use of additives and their mixtures
CaMg(CO3)(2), CaCO3, Ca(OH)(2), Sorbacal (R) H90 and their mixts. were used as sorbents for desulfurization of flue gases from a bubbling fluidized bed boiler (6.0 MW) fired with a hard coal as a fuel (S content 0.67-0.77%). The process of dry desulfurization was carried out at avg. temp. of 850 degrees C and sorbents were dosed on hard coal screw conveyor at molar ratios of 0.63-2.64 Ca +Mg/S. The efficiency of the desulfurization was 28-79%. Slightly better efficiencies were achieved for sorbent mixts. than for a single sorbent, at similar Ca+Mg/S molar ratios. A mixt. of CaCO3 and Ca(OH)(2) (1:1) allowed for decreasing SO2 concn. below 200 mg/m(3) in a flue gas (6% O-2).
