Importance of sieve analysis in conducting explosive tests of materials
Wood-based panels were disintegrated to grains below 500 pm, sepd. then to dust fractions 300-500 pm, 200-300 pm and 100-200 pm, studied to det. the max. explosion pressure and explosion pressure rise rate in conncs. 60-1500 g/m(3) of air. No explosion was obsd. when the fraction 300-500 pm was studied. The explosion took place for the fraction 200-300 pm at concns. 1000 g/m(3) and higher and for the fraction 100-200 pm at concns. 250 g/m(3) and higher. The dusts were hence classified as non-explosive or slightly explosive ones.
