Beam Position Stabilization by Suppression of Electrons Reentering the Electron-Beam Column
The electron trap proposed in this paper provides high beam positioning stability. It keeps reflected electrons and secondary electrons from reentering the column from the specimen. The effect of the trap is evaluated numerically and experimentally, and the results show that it can reduce beam positioning drift by a factor of 6.
