A method of modeling for nonlinear process dynamics using extended Wiener series model with discrete Laguerre filters
A method of modeling for nonlinear process dynamics using the extended Wiener series model with discrete Laguerre filters has been developed. A nonlinear process dynamics is approximated the extended Wiener series model with linear combination of first order discrete plural Laguerre filters by adaptive digital filter method. It is shown that the model order can be reduced as compared with the discrete Volterra series model. It was applied to the bottom temperature control loop of the demethanizer distillation column in an ethylene plant to confirm the design philosophy. The actual result indicates that the proposed method in this study has the advantage of modeling for nonlinear process dynamics.
