ELASTOMERIC HYBRID NETWORKS FROM RUBBERS AND BIFUNCTIONAL POLYOLEFINS
Two-component networks were prepared by ''ene'' reaction of azodicarboxylate-terminated polyolefins with cis-1,4-polyisoprene (IR), natural rubber (NR) and cis-1,4-polybutadiene (BR). Thermal and dynamic mechanical Properties of the networks were investigated. The results suggested that the reaction of: end-functionalized polyolefin with IR or NR was effective for the preparation of elastomeric hybrid networks consisting of their immiscible polymer pairs. In contrast, phase separation of BR segments was observed in polyolefin-linked-BR network.
