HEAT-TRANSFER MODEL-CALCULATIONS TO PREDICT MECHANICAL-PROPERTIES OF CONTINUOUSLY VULCANIZED EPDM COMPOUNDS
In this paper a model, based on a finite elements approach, is described which predicts the optimal conditions for a continuous hot air vulcanisation line. With this model the number of experiments necessary for optimisation of a continuous hot air vulcanisation line can be minimised. in combination with simple compression moulding experiments, this model provides the rubber technologist with a tool for studying the influence of changes in vulcanisation settings, without having to do laborious large scale experiments.
