A design concept for vibration absorbers
In this article a design concept is outlined which can be used to design a vibration absorber prototype both selectively and rapidly. The absorber stiffness is the objective of the design concept. Besides measured values, analytical equations are used which are derived from the specific boundary conditions of absorbers. The basic idea of the design concept is the calculation of the absorber stiffness by two independent factors, the material and the shape factor. The material factor is defined by the selected rubber formulation, the shape factor is defined by the absorber geometry. To achieve a certain absorber stiffness, the shape and material factor are each independently varied.
