VSS is a combination of a chute, a vertical V-disposed non-intermeshing twin tapered screw extruder and a short table roll mill, all installed in a compact unit underneath an internal mixer. This configuration combines a good control of the compound temperature with the pumping action in the mill bank zone to produce a continuous compound sheet with perfect shape. VSS is able to operate in all normal rubber compound mixing lines as a two roll mill or a single screw roller die or a twin tapered screws extruder, for mastication, master-batching, remilling or finishing. VSS can save space dedicated in a mixing room area for technological purpose, with its reduced overall dimensions and it has an important flexibility to lay-out because of symmetrical disposition of its main components.
