Dispersion control for industrial rubber manufacturers
The most important reason for a rubber manufacturer to start up and systematically work with dispersion is to achieve better process economy without infringing on quality expectations. Having agreed upon the appropriate quality level for each application, continuous measurements detect changes in the manufacturing process caused by e.g, wear and tear of the equipment. The basic concept is to use a minimum of effort but still meet the customers' expectations regarding process homogeneity, good dispersion and absence of large agglomerates. The paper gives a brief review on existing methods with focus on new experiences for dispersion control, based on rubber manufacturers' established methods for filler dispersion and large agglomerate detection.
