The wide application of processing promoters within the rubber industry are described. It is demonstrated that there is an essential need for processing promoters e.g. in the mastication/mixing process, as they lower the viscosity of the batch, thus reducing the mixing energy/ time. In addition, they guarantee a better filler dispersion/incorporation and better viscoelastic properties. Their widespread application goes even further, as they can be seen as lubricating/homogenising agents, too, in order to increase the extrusion and injection molding performance.
