Sulfur cured SBR vulcanizates were reclaimed by a renewable resource material (RRM) which is a vegetable product, The progress of reclaiming was monitored by estimating the sol and gel portions, molecular weight determination of sol and Mooney viscosity of reclaimed rubber, The properties of SBR reclaim were evaluated by mixing it with fresh rubber in various proportions. The effect of carbon black loading, additives level and retarder were studied in SBR/reclaim (50/50) blends, Tensile properties and swelling value were evaluated before and after aging.
