With the aid of a new software package, core deflection during injection can now be calculated. The method is based on the use and linking of various finite-element (FE) programs. Practical examples confirm good agreement with predictions. The software is characterized by a simple modelling technique and ease of use as well as the possibility to rapidly and reliably investigate the effect of alternate approaches.
