On the Dynamics of Equilibrium Networks - Poe-B-Pi-B-Poe Copolymers in H2O AOT Isooctane Water-in-Oil Microemulsions
Self-diffusion properties of the AOT and triblock copolymer molecules in a water in oil microemulsion were investigated with pulsed field gradient NMR. A crossover from restricted to free polymer diffusion and a strong coupling of polymer and surfactant diffusion were observed supporting the idea of transient network formation in the investigated system. Quasielastic light scattering, only detecting motions of the water droplets, yields three diffusive processes. The intermediate process is due to density fluctuations resulting from the self-diffusion of the copolymer.
