Deuterium Absorbed on MgO-Supported Iridium Clusters - Characterization by Infrared and Deuterium NMR Spectroscopies
Deuterium NMR spectra were measured to characterize samples incorporating iridium clusters (Ir4 and Ir6) supported on MgO that were treated with D2. The results indicate the presence of terminal deuterides on the iridium clusters and surface deuteroxyl groups on the MgO, the latter formed by spillover of deuterium dissociated on the iridium clusters.
