On Electric-Conductivity of Infinite Clusters in Water-in-Oil Microemulsions
Water-in-oil microemulsions formed by nonionic and ionic surfactants were conductometrically studied at their percolation thresholds. All conductance data had to be converted into isothermal conductivities to obtain physically reasonable results. The nanodroplet model could be confirmed and transitions (with AOT) toward a more conducting state observed. There is evidence that the charge transport mechanisms between the clustered nanodroplets is different for ionic and nonionic surfactants.
