Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic comparison of Cu,Co/Si-Al-zeolite catalysts prepared by a combined sol-gel method
Combinations of Si-Al mixed with zeolites have shown a promising future as base supports for acid-base and oxidation reactions. An effective, although expensive, approach for Si-Al support preparation is based on the solid being formed from Si and Al alkoxides in alcohol. A variation of this method based on the mixing of alkoxides and inorganic Si and Al precursors during gelation is presented. Analyses show a crystal network completely dehydroxylated, which may indicate a more effective insertion of metal loadings into the network.
