Electrically induced changes in dynamic wettability
The wettability of water on a solid fluoropolymer surface was modified through the application of an electrical potential between the aqueous phase and a conductive substrate underlying the insulating polymer layer. A high-resolution optical technique was used to acquire contact angle-velocity data for different applied de potentials. The experimental data were reconciled with the molecular kinetic model of contact line motion.
