Sulfur Removal from ZrO2/So42- During N-Butane Isomerization
We wish to report that significant quantities of hydrogen sulfide are identified during the isomerization of n-butane at 250 degrees C using ZrO2/SO42-. This result indicates catalyst deactivation is at least partly due to the reduction of the oxidation state of sulfur and removal of sulfur from the catalyst as hydrogen sulfide. The reduction and removal of sulfur is apparently closely related to the n-butane isomerization process.
