Scattering of Statistical Structure of Polymer-Polymer Interfaces
A theory for scattering of compositional fluctuations near a flat interface between two strongly incompatible polymers is presented. It is shown that scattering of fluctuations gives rise to an appreciable correction to the apparent interfacial thickness. The magnitude of this correction is shown to be crucially dependent on the particular experimental geometry (e.g., oriented interface vs random orientation).
