The paper derives and discusses the constitutive equations for viscoelastic nonisothermal bulk relaxation. Methods of hidden variables and nonequilibrium thermodynamics employed enable us to establish sign definiteness of various material parameters. In the author’s opinion, the results can clarify the heuristic arguments proposed in a recent publication.(6)
