Near-surface composition profiles in isotopic polymer blends determined via high-resolution nuclear reaction analysis
The concentration profiles of high molecular weight, isotopic polystyrene blends in the nearsurface region were directly measured using real-space composition-depth profiling based on nuclear reaction analysis. The measured profiles are in good agreement with predictions of the Schmidt-Binder mean field theory. In contrast to previous indications, we find no evidence for a flattening of the concentration profile near the surface.
