The synthesis of strontium titanyl oxalate (STO) from Sr and Ti chlorides and oxalic acid is described. Thermal decomposition of STO was studied by means of TG and DTG and compared to X-ray diffraction measurements. Highly crystalline strontium titanate can be obtained by heating the STO precursor in air at 900-degrees-C.
