Fatigue behavior and fracture of sintered
Pores sizes were systematically changed by varying size particles, compaction pressure and sintering time in specimen fabricated from ASC 100.29 powder. The sintering atmosphere was hydrogen. Fatigue life curves were obtained under axial loading. It is concluded that microcrack are initiated in pores of great size being associated with irregular morphology. Reduction of pore size and improvement of pores sphericity tend to increase the fatigue strength.
