Small-Angle Neutron-Scattering (Sans) Studies on Side-on Fixed Liquid-Crystal Polymers
Small angle neutron scattering experiments were carried out on liquid crystalline "side-on fixed" polymers in order to draw the main features of the backbone conformation in the nematic phase of these systems. At low temperature, the main chain exhibits a high prolate anisotropy which corresponds to a large extension of the polymer and, such anisotropy depends on the chemical structure of the liquid crystalline "side-on fixed" polymers.
