On the Distribution of Single-Molecule Line Widths in Low-Temperature Glasses
We discuss a theoretical model for describing the spectral dynamics (fluctuating transition frequency) of individual chromophores in solids. We show that analysis, with this model, of line width distributions resulting from experiments on many individual chromophores in glasses may provide a discriminating test of the "two-level system" model of glasses.
