Analyzed are some constructive reasons of failure of latching systems of ETA elevators. Given the results of work fulfilled on ETA modernization. Developed a new design of elevator (ETA-P) with a stationary handle and fixing of gripping joint with the help of finger. Serial manufacturing of ETA-P elevators has been started since the end of 1997 by Ishimbai Machinery Plant JSC.
