DECOMPOSITION OF CUMENE HYDROPEROXIDE IN AN ALKALINE-SOLUTION OF HEXAMETHYL PHOSPHORUS TRIAMIDE
A study has been made of the governing relationships and composition of products of the decomposition of cumene hydroperoxide in a superbase (hexamethyl phosphorus triamide-MeOH, where Me is K or Na) in the temperature range 313-343 K. It has been established that this process proceeds by an ionic mechanism. A kinetic model describing the experimental facts observed is proposed.
