New 3-arylcarbonyloxy-substituted thiethanes have been synthesized by the reaction of thioepichlorohydrin with different substituted aromatic acids. It has been established that the 3-arylcarboxyloxy-substituted thiethanes synthesized possess antiscuff and antiwear properties and improve the wetting properties of transmission oils.
