An examination has been made of the results of investigations over many years on the syntheses of hydrocarbons and oxygen-containing compounds from CO and H-2 and from CO, H-2 acid a third component, carried out in the Laboratory of Catalytic Synthesis on the basis of carbon oxides and hydrocarbons. The prospects for the development of research in certain directions are outlined.
