Effect of matrix ''rigidity'' on the catalytic properties of a palladium-containing anionite
For the case of a model reaction of hydrogenation of nitrobenzene in alcohols and hydrocarbons, a study has been made of the catalytic properties of a classic Pd/C catalyst and palladium-containing porous anionite APA with different crosslinking agent contents, A comparison of the data obtained showed that the degree of crosslinking affects the effective rate constant of the catalysed reaction through swelling of the polymer matrix, whereas the nature of the solvent under the conditions examined has virtually no effect on the hydrogenation rate.
