An examination has been made of the catalytic properties of metal polyphthalocyanines in the oxidation of mercaptans. Methods for producing metal polyphthalocyanines and trends in the modification of these methods are described. The specifications for cobalt polyphthalocyanines for use in processes of demercaptanization are presented.
