Preparation of pH/Temperature Responsive Polymer Membrane by Plasma Polymerization and Its Riboflavin Permeation
pH and temperature sensitive polymer membrane was prepared by grafting acrylic acid and N-isopropylacrylamide on the surface of porous polyamide membrane by plasma polymerization technique. Simultaneous plasma polymerization of two monomers yielded the membrane sensitive both to pH and temperature. Graft yield was lowered when acrylic acid content was over 10 wt% in monomer mixture. X-ray photoelectron spectra and Fourier transform infra-red attenuated total reflection spectra of graft membrane confirmed the incorporation of functional monomers. Through surface graft membranes, the permeation of riboflavin as a model drug was conducted and the permeation behaviour was discussed.
